Consultant (Lexical Publishing)

Location: Shanghai

Responsibilities:

 
  • To translate, review, edit and coordinate qualified content for English-Chinese bilingual dictionaries and grammars in Mainland China market; 
  • To complete quality assurance for digital products for Mainland China market;
  • To support to improve the manuscripts and translation of dictionaries and grammars to publishable standard;
  • To be responsible for all desk editorial roles from receipt of typescript to finished product;
  • To translate materials of content creation and market research;
  • To do educational researches and general editorial duties;
  • To help with liaison with editors of co-publishers, authors and freelance translators when necessary;
  • To assist line manager for project research, coordination, schedule maintenance, and staff training, etc.;
  • To support departmental administrative duties.

Requirements:
 
  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in English language or related disciplines;
  • High level of literacy in written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • At least 1-2 year experience in translation, editorial and/or teaching;

ELT Intern

Location: Shanghai

Responsibilities:

 
  • To assist colleagues in Editorial Consulting by proofreading pages, checking audio or digital files, doing fact check and translating ELT materials for product/market research on a timely manner to ensure the successful production of OUP materials.

Requirements:
 
  • Undergraduate (sophomore or above) or post-graduate university students majoring in English or other related majors;
  • Can work for at least 3 days per week for a period of 3-6 months (contract could be extended upon satisfactory performance);
  • High level of literacy in both written and spoken English;
  • Patient, meticulous, positive, proactive and multitasking;
